In accordance with the Candidacy Guidelines, I have included a paper that was submitted and accepted to a peer reviewed journal for publication. For this paper, I submitted to the Teaching Artist Journal, which has newly changed editorial boards and is headed by Dr. Amy Cordileone. As my mentor, she suggested that I submit an article to the journal for April 2016 publication.

I chose to write on the experience leading professional development workshops in Guatemala, as I have learned much from the field. I co-authored the paper with Dr. Beth Osnes as her and my work has been entirely collaborative. While I write the paper, Beth provided extensive edits. Due to the turnover time required for publishing the journal, my article was not submitted to a rigorous peer review session before being selected. However, in lieu of included peer review comments, I have included an earlier version which shows Beth's feedback. Additionally, Dr. Cordelione provided verbal feedback during multiple in-person meetings which I was also able to incorporate into the final draft. Immediately below you will find the final submitted article, as well as part of the author's agreement from Taylor and Francis. Below that, you will find the earlier version of the paper with Beth's edits tracked in green.

The final article will be published digitally and in print in April of 2016.

Early draft of article with Dr. Osnes's comments

Below are the comments that Dr. Osnes provided after I sent her the first draft of the paper. As a tenured professor, she has extensive experience publishing in the field, and her feedback served as a form of review. We are listed as co-authors as the ideas and material sourced for the paper comes from our years of working together.
